Before we get started, allow me to quickly introduce myself. I am Stephanie, a former wedding Pro just like you and now I am a virtual assistant for wedding pros offering creative services such as blogging, creating content strategies, and content repurposing. I help wedding pros focus on the parts of the job that they enjoy and save them time and frustration on the other stuff. I have done this type of work and more for wedding venues, planners, florists, DJs, officiants, and photo booths along with having my own wedding planning and bridal show production business.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
In my opinion, if you need only one reason to write a blog, THIS IS IT. Search engines such as Google focus on things like keywords, fresh content, and value on your website. Blogs are a way to deliver all of that consistently. Google likey!
I could write an entire blog just on SEO so I don’t want to get too deep into this topic, even though I think it is the most important. All you need to understand is that this is how your ideal clients will likely find you, especially early in their wedding planning journey. You might get some attention through referrals, social media, and other marketing, but the first thing they will do is hit their favorite search engine (and possibly Pinterest) to ask their most pressing questions and begin their search for the right wedding pros.
2. Content Repurposing
Content Repurposing is when you take a core piece of content (such as a blog, video, or podcast) and use the information to create other pieces of content to share. One blog can easily become multiple social media posts using a carousel graphic for Instagram, an Instagram story, Reels/Tiktok videos, a topic for Instagram Live or IGTV video… and you can do a combination of all of these.
That is why having core content is so important. It helps you to share value, your expertise, and your insights on multiple platforms in multiple ways. Plus saving so much time and effort to create new content.
3. Showing Your Personality/Style
There are a ton of pros in your field… but there is only one YOU. A blog is a great way to attract couples that you’ll get along with professionally AND personally. This is especially helpful for planners who work with the clients a lot and for a lot of their entire planning journey, and photographers who spend the entire wedding day with them. Ever heard of the know, like, trust factor?? This is part of them getting to know you and like you…
4. Showing Your Experience/Expertise
And this is where the trust part comes in. Sharing your knowledge and your real weddings shows potential clients how valuable you are. When browsing websites, who do you think the couple will hire? The one with just a listing of services and generic website copy, or the one that has so much knowledge and beautiful stories to share?
5. Providing Value
This goes a bit hand in hand with #4 but in addition to showing your expertise to potential leads, the value of your content can also be appreciated by hot leads and booked clients. They may be willing to pay more for a vendor who really knows their stuff and shares their knowledge so freely (but not too much… don’t give it ALL away). This could also mean less question answering for you… because many answers are provided on your website! It’s a WIN-WIN!
